Raloxifene 60mg tablet is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) mainly used in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. While weight gain is not a commonly reported side effect of raloxifene, some studies and anecdotal evidence suggest it may influence body weight.

A study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research in 2002 examined the effects of raloxifene on body composition in postmenopausal women. The study found that women who took raloxifene experienced a slight increase in body weight compared to those who took a placebo. However, the weight gain observed in the raloxifene group was minimal and insignificant.

Another study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism in 2004 investigated the effects of raloxifene on body composition and metabolic parameters in postmenopausal women. This study also found a slight increase in body weight in women taking raloxifene compared to those taking a placebo. However, the researchers concluded that the weight gain was likely due to factors other than raloxifene treatment, such as changes in diet and physical activity.

It's important to note that individual responses to medications can vary, and some people may experience weight gain while taking raloxifene, while others may not. Additionally, other factors such as diet, exercise, and hormonal changes associated with menopause can also influence body weight.
